Visual Artist

Three solo exhibitions at Perc Tucker Regional Gallery.

Oil Paintings on Canvas. In traditional art I have presented works in the genres of surreal, abstraction and science fiction. My creative development here challenges fixed beliefs on self, space and time.My  works have been displayed at Perc Tucker Regional Gallery's Access Space and Niche Gallery, entitled: Surreal and Science Fiction. In preparing for this exhibition, I worked on numerous paintings simultaneously by drawing on a concept and the visual aspects from one painting then transferring them to other works. For instance, if I had lots of orange mixed up, I would use leftovers on another piece. In between works, I have had interludes of mixing records and beats in my music room and after composing music I may feel more inspired to paint, but there are no rules to this. Sometimes I am inspired or enjoy listening to music while painting, but must say that the bulk of these paintings were done in silence. I find the thought of how our environments influence our work fascinating as I want my efforts to be guided from within, but realise there are conditions beyond my control which influence how my work comes about. And at the end of the process, for me, an exhibition is something about my life, and since life is about experiences and those experiences come in infinite forms and variety, in the moment I pledge for a simple expression - one place in the universe.
